The year: 1980. The place: Northridge Little League, Northridge, CA. The person: Me, Sunny. The team: Orioles. That was my first year -- out of 10 seasons -- as a softball player. And now, my youth is being re-lived through my nephew Zach.
Zach, almost 6, is on the Braves, coached by my brother Doug. He really wanted to play baseball, and of course, he's starting out playing T-Ball. But wait! Before we all know it, Zach will be in senior leagues, having spent 10 years playing. Oy.
Before we get ahead of ourselves, here are some pics capturing his first-ever game.
Zach's first swing
His first hit!
His first almost-collison
And being coached by his coach (and father) Doug.
What a way to begin paving his road to stardom.
